Ghana is known as Africa’s largest Gold producer and the 6th largest gold producer in the world.
The mining industry provides over 50% foreign direct investment and is the largest tax paying sector in Ghana.
Gold contributes more than 90% of Ghana’s total mineral exports and 49% of the countries total export value.

Gold is the single largest contributor to government revenue. Corporate income tax the sector has been growing over the years and overall fiscal receipts from the sector is the rise according to the Revenue Authority.
